Wow! I don't normally like jumping into the middle of series, but with this book, I don't feel like it made much of a difference. This book was action packed and suspenseful almost from the beginning. This book features Callum (Cal) and Gwen. Gwen used to be Cal's girl, until he left her behind to join the Marines. She married his brother, Ian, who is believed to have killed himself. But Gwen has suspicions that not everything is on the up and up there. Cal has returned to town to help his mom and dad and is fighting his attraction to Gwen (she is his brother's widow, after all). Then there's a lot of angst, combined with the mystery.
I loved the characters in this book, they have history and their interactions are realistic. There is a cliffhanger here, but also a happily ever after, so it's not so bad.
