She stole my birthright, so I’ll claim her by any means possible. I was banished from my family two years ago by my Pakhan and brother, and any mention of the Belyaevs makes me burn with red-hot anger. I’m no longer heir to the Belyaev crime family fortune. But she is. Zenya Belyaev, the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen. She’s the mirror of my soul. The second half of my treacherous heart. The key to my future as the most powerful man in the city. Our love is forbidden fruit. Zenya burns from the shame of wanting me, but I will sink my teeth into her heart and make her lick the juice from my lips. She thinks one taste is enough for me after wanting her all these years? Princess, I’m only just getting started. Author’s note: Brutal Conquest is a standalone MF romance with forbidden themes, breeding, an eighteen year age gap, a jealous and possessive alphahole uncle (no blood relation) and a sweet but strong virgin heroine. The story is dirty and delicious, so please read at your discretion.

This was a fun, fast-paced read that took some interesting approaches:
First of all, it was refreshing to read mafia book where the family actually likes each other—I’m so used to betrayal, people selling off their daughters, and things along those lines that this was unexpected throughout. I kept waiting for things to turn much darker, and they really didn’t. Props to Vincent for showing this totally *can* work in this trope—I enjoyed it!
As for the steamy bits, she manage to pack a lot of k!nks into not a lot of space and still managed to pretty much make it feel natural. You’d think it’d look forced, reading that, but it really didn’t.
The pseudo-incest thing took a bit of getting used to, but it really did work well, ultimately. There’s a bit of action and suspense, a lot of drama, strong family vibes, lots of loyalty and wholesomeness on this front and a fair bit of violence. It also manages to be sweet in just the right moments—expertly woven.
4 stars.

Truly perfect.
This was grooming. I like taboo, but not that taboo. Sorry, not sorry.
