This is the second book in the Fierce Heart series and features Bianca and Jack. Bianca has her doubts about Jack and vacillates between believing he is the one stealing horses from the ranch and wanting him and a relationship with him. They get a lot closer in this installment of the story, but she still doesn't trust him. He tells her about his childhood, then when he is telling her that while he was at the creek getting ready to swim and heard voices, Bianca goes back to not trusting him again. Ultimately, they end up sending out people to all of the neighboring ranches and find out that on the them looks like it might be the source of the problems.
