A dead body. A missing daughter. A silver blade. All the clues point to one person: Me. My name is Evangeline, and I’m a retired assassin who wants nothing to do with the underworld. But an edict from a Demonic Lord forces me to return to the man and the life I left behind. I have seven days to prove my innocence. Whoever set me up is going to die. --- Daughter of Death is part of the Bad Girls collection for 2018, and also serves as the first book in the Dark Provenance series. Please note that this is a standalone paranormal romance with dark elements, demons, angels, a sadistic alpha male, blood, and a lot of dead bodies. What can I say? Eve likes her knives, and Xai enjoys watching her play.

Solid 4.5 star,
There are some great character here, I just loved how Eve and Xai have this complex love/hate relationship due to their past where they want different things with each other. Eve thought she was retired and would never have to see Xai again but unfortunately for her someone has framed her for crime that could see her dead and now she has to work with Xai in order to help clear her name. There are plenty of moments when Eve get feisty, Xai is oblivious to what he does to Eve or chooses to ignore it while they go on a roller coast ride of twists, surprises and frustrations. Will Eve come out of this proving herself innocent and how will her hear cope being so close to Xai.
