There were so many plots and subplots in this story. Annie is a gambler who gamed the system but caught by the mafia. She owes money to the mafia and when she sees her daughter Kallie on television, she sees that she might be a way out. She goes to Kallie and asks for help, even when she doesn't deserve it because she abandoned Kallie years ago. Kallie has Jake and his love for her grounds her when everything else is crazy. Kallie's ex is causing her trouble too, so even though she has the money to help her mother, she can't access it. So they have to do something to get her out of trouble -- go to Atlantic City and go from there (can you tell this is probably going to be a bad idea!!). The story only gets wilder from there. It's quick, exciting and for a long time, you are really not sure how things are going to turn out!
