Music is my life. It's kept me breathing. Even when I couldn't eat, sleep, or sing, I could still write songs. It's the only thing that has saved me from going crazy. Until the day Reckless Alibi decides to hire a girl. Suddenly, everything from my past comes rushing back to me. And now she's there. For every rehearsal. Every show. Every moment. Every song. We were supposed to be a boy band. Now everything has changed. I'm still breathing ... but I'm sure as hell no longer sane. **Reckless Obsession can be read as a standalone romance. It is book one in a series that follows a rock band.

A crazy roller coaster of emotions!
This book had a great 4 star start. But the more we got into story, the more insane and toxic the relationship between Crew and Bria became. Almost disturbingly so.
Bria is Brett’s little sister who we met in Engulfing Emma. She was an up and coming rock star and at the end of that book, had gotten a chance to go on tour with a top rock band as a back up singer. When we meet her in this book, she is on tour with the band and dating the lead singer. But things don’t work out with the lead singer and she ends up out of a job. She ends up singing with a new group, Reckless Alibi. And that’s where how she meets Crew. Crew is .... damaged, to say the least. Very damaged. Bria reminds him of someone in his past. Someone he can’t get over. Nevertheless, the two begin a “thing” that brings him great guilt. Like I said, he had a LOT of baggage. And things get really, really bad. But, with some help, things turn around and these two somehow manage to get a happily ever after.
Now, people who have read this author before know that tragedy is a staple in her stories. There is always some kind of heart wrenching drama involved and this book is no different. The tragedy in this story was actually a lot to take. A definite trigger warning. It takes awhile to get the whole story, but here is what Crew is dealing with: In high school, Crew meets Abby and the two fall in love. Her parents are really strict and controlling, so she sneaks around with Crew a lot. She ends up getting pregnant and the two plan to marry on her 18th birthday. But about a week before, she goes missing, victim of her stalker. When her stalker realizes she’s pregnant, he leaves her locked in a basement. The stress sends her into premature labor. The baby dies. Abby hangs herself after having to watch her baby die.. Like I said ... it was almost too much to deal with.
Bria also has her problems. She’s very patient and understand with Crew. Maybe too much so. And then she isn’t. She was in love, I get it. But she gave him too much leeway in my opinion. But when she finally gets fed up, she kind of goes too far when she dumps Crew and threatens to quit the band. She very nearly ruined their livelihood. It got so bad that their agent had to hire someone to fill in for her and possibly replace her in the band. Even after Crew apologizes and explains his issues, she refuses to do her job and go back to the band. She picked the wrong time to be so stubborn..
But at the end of the day, it all works out for them. And we’re teased with an even more messed up story for Liam in the next book. And I’m honestly not sure I’m ready for that just yet. I need some time to recover from this tragic tale.
