While I knew I wanted to know about Raider and Brigid, I didn’t realize how enmeshed in their stories I would get. I really love these two as a couple. Brigid has some issues with feeling like she’s a good person, even though she’s a wonderful person. And Raider has a lot of issues after being abused and left in the foster care system as a young boy. Together…they’re a super couple. Able to make each other feel at home, no matter where they are or what is happening around them.

It’s no secret I greatly enjoy this author, she’s become a favorite over the last year or so. Most of her stories I find to be riveting with amazing chemistry. There are a few that haven’t ticked every box, but I still find those stories great and hard to put down. Rebecca Zanetti has great attention to detail and I’d be hard pressed to find holes in her stories, even with all the characters and storylines she often has going at once…until this story.

To be frank, this would have been a 5-star review but I couldn’t give a perfect rating due to the inconsistencies in this tale. Characters that meet at the beginning saying they never met. Rooms that are supposedly blocking all cell service and then a cell phone works, and more. So, while I was having such an amazing time reading this story, I kept being taken out of the story with these flubs.

Strictly talking about the storyline, characters, and connections this is a huge 5-star story. It’s a 10-star story, if that was a thing in my reviews. That’s what makes the mistakes all the more frustrating. I’m keeping my fingers crossed it was a fluke since I’ve never had these issues with her other books so far.

What I guess I’m trying to say is I still highly recommend this story. I love the Deep Ops family and how they keep growing closer as this series progresses. This story had me swooning, sitting on the edge of my seat, and even laughing out loud.

The beginning was very boring. Because I did not buy Brigid and Raider as a pair. And I don’t see them living happily after this. They didn’t really have chemistry. And their love scenes were kind of annoying because we could’ve just continued with the plot of the book, and not worried about their romance.

The plot was also a little lacking. And it didn’t really make much sense the things that were happening. It was just hard to make sense of the events. Half of it should not have happened seeing as they were supposedly professionals, but I suppose that’s neither here nor there. What happened happened and that’s what I need to judge this book off of. But still, it really made sense.
