Recs if you like Marionetta, Volume 1...

Books that inspired or are similar to Studio Ghibli films

I have spent years curating a list of graphic novels for myself on goodreads and I thought this place would be great to share it and share my love for graphic novels. I’m not picky about the plot or topics of the graphic novels I read so the list is pretty much any graphic novel I have heard of regardless of topic. Many are middle grade or young adult as is the general trend of the format but recommendations for more (especially adult) would be greatly appreciated.

Also manga is not included.

Books that feel like they could be adapted into a Studio Ghibli movie or have similar vibes to specific Ghibli films

graphic novels, webtoons, mangas are all included only the first volumes of series have been added

Those are webtoons and Koreann webtoons that I particularly enjoyed (all of them are romance or have a romantic subplot). Some of them are set in the modern world, while others have fantastical elements or are straight up fantasy

A list of the YA books published in 2026. Please comment if any are missing.
