Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

One broken girl. Two brothers. One small town with a big secret. Planning to escape her controlling boyfriend, Isla’s getaway hits a snag when a pair of pink lines show up on a pregnancy test. Levi just needs an accountant. Someone smart, dependable, and someone who won't blow town and leave him in the lurch. When a pretty but battered woman falls into his arms, he can't help but offer her the job. If only he can convince her to take it. As an unexpected death rocks this small Colorado town, Isla can't help but wonder if her past somehow followed her to the one place she's felt like home. Some sanctuaries aren't as safe as they appear...

Isla has had anything but an easy life and when Cole pushes her to far everything spirals out of control and she is on the run with no idea where she will end up. While doing a quick stop at a Diner while she recuperates some more she is faced with something she has rarely known... kindness but is it enough to make her stay and finally let others into her life. This is one hell of a ride with such a range of emotions piled into one book where you have people you can't help but love and others you loath or distrust and the way the characters slowly reveal their lives and you learn why they are like the way they are in the town makes you connect more so with them. Even though Isla and Levi are the main characters where we see then meet and fall for each other and I love how Isla still has some sass and fire in her even after everything, Levi not being able to help but feel protective of her you also have Constance oh bless her heart I wanted to hug her, Orin who had me perplexed for ages and Smitty you sly bugger you!
