Rosemary Brosnan at HarperCollins/Quill Tree Books has acquired, at auction, René Peña-Govea’s YA debut, Estela, Undrowning, in which 17-year-old poet Estela Morales navigates anxiety and eviction, along with love and racism, at San Francisco’s most elite public high school after she loses the Latino Heritage Poetry Contest to a racial imposter. Publication is planned for winter 2026; Sandra Proudman of Gallt & Zacker Literary Agency negotiated the deal for North American rights.
