I really loved this book. Despite the issues I took with the cheating storylines, the emotion in this tore me to shreds. I also ADORE the fact that the songs were put into the soundtrack and made them really come alive. I need that for all books that have original songs now.

3.5 stars. This book wasn’t bad by any means, but it didn’t blow me away either. To be clear, I don’t mind a cheating trope but I prefer cheating when the person being cheating on sucks. I really want a Maggie redemption story here. I agreed with, and understood her true reason for breaking up with him… but it felt too easy. I also felt like there were elements of deaf culture that were missing, and it felt like CH didn’t put in a lot of effort to understand deafness. Even in her acknowledgments at the end of the book, she didn’t recognize a single person as being deaf who helped her create the story, and I found that really disappointing.

But overall, I enjoyed reading it. I have a lot of other books I would recommend to people first but if you needed something to get the job done and pass some time, this was it.
