Real Girl (Aston Creek High #4)

Sheridan Anne

Lucien Valentine must die. It’s the thought that’s kept me going for four long years. I’ve imagined it, dreamed about it, relished in it. I want it so bad, but the question is, do I have what it takes to make it happen? Taking a life isn’t for the faint-hearted. Just ask Lucien, he knows. He’s taken me back to where it all started, and I know exactly how it’s going to go. He’s going to hurt me, and then he’ll marry me off to his millionaire business partner, Marcus Mahony, who has even lower morals than he does. I can’t let that happen. I have to get out of here—even if it means finding out exactly what I’m made of—even if it means leaving a piece of myself behind. I thought the past six months were insane. It turns out that I hadn’t even touched the surface. One thing is for sure, I will never be the same again. Welcome. To. Hell.

^Those are just a few of the tropes / aspects you’ll find in this installment, and there are even more across the 4-book series. This is the final installment in a dark, suspenseful series that kept me absolutely dying for the next one—what a fun ride it was.

If you were to hear a synopsis, you might think, ‘That’s implausible’, but it really wasn’t for me. Kids are sometimes forced to grow a lot beyond their years and not really have a childhood. It also depicts some dark scenes, very specific ones, that you may want to think are implausible, but I can tell you from experience that sadly, they’re not. The characters were developed in a way that explained their evolution and growth and made all that happened not only plausible, but absolutely fitting … and satisfying for some of us fellow survivors.

No one designs a b4da$$, wise-well-beyond-her-years, female lead quite like Sheridan Anne. This was a quick read that just wrapped up the series as a whole and still: it was unputdownable.

    Well done.

    4 stars.

    Audio:
The female narrator was fantastic, smooth voice, performed the book very well and overall sound quality is excellent.

The male narrator … not great. He doesn’t perform at all, opting to just dictate the book robotically. Overall sound quality is great.

4 stars for her, 2 for him. 4 for the overall production.
