Love will never die if it exists on the lips of death. I often thought about this while I was locked inside my Doll House in Patience. Groomed every second of every day, they made sure to cover all of the darkness lurking in my soul with the false guise of perfection. The soul is fickle. Naked to the public eye and only visible to the owner, a soul bleeds every time it’s put through pain. But when that’s hidden, it spreads. The trick is to protect it from reaching your brain. It was too late for me. Until I met them. One was an Elite King. One was a Brother of Kiznitch. Both were liars. I’m Lilith Patience, The Sorcerer of Death and daughter of one of the most feared organizations known to man. After being thrust into the notorious world of Midnight Mayhem, I found myself coiled around a past that I want to forget and a future that could destroy me. I love two men, and they love me as much as they love each other, but when the demons of my past tighten their grip around my throat, will I finally let them strip away the layers of perfection to get to my rotten, withered soul? Maybe. Or maybe they’ll die trying.

i was going to give it a 4 stars but their story and their journey was just so good so heartbroken and so powerful wha the hell WAS THIS?? amo jones made me go crazy with this book, even more so than the others what was that???? why pull that off?? i cried my ass off, i don't remember the last time i cried this hard for a character a character i love so much thay i care for deeply jesus the tears just couldn't stop i mean wow!! lilith os a queen, and let me tell you what she's been through what im speechless and i admire how strong she truly is and still had the time to "learn" how to love and start to care for others with the help of kyrin and eli i mean beautiful!! eli was definitely the "comic relief" of the book tho obviously with secrets and broken too, he was more soft than kyrin and it was so cute to see, then kyrin my man my obsessed man with both eli and lilith ugh i liked it a lot, they just made sense together and what they went through they deserve the happiness they deserve the freaking world!! also seeing the other kings too? even the girls just for a little bit?? loved it, this book might be my favorite tho it definitely was more dark than the others because of what the things lilith went through, it physically painted me i needed sometimes to stop reading to breathe but idk i truly love them, they still are toxic and always with secrets but they make sense and they just belong together i need to read the last one because what the hell was that?? amo jones broke my heart with this book so many times then it made me happy then heartbroken again then maybe a little bit more happy with small cute scenes still damn what a ride
I read this out of order, because I was able to obtain book #s one and three for free in audio format, and and slooowwwwllly making my way through the eBook of book 2. Reading this before finishing book 2, there were spoilers for book 2 (though nothing I hadn’t already predicted from the first couple chapters), so if you dislike spoilers, I recommend reading this series in order.
That said, each book does seem to spotlight a different person and a different aspect of the drama for this gang.
