I’m happy to announce that I have an one more book boyfriend to add to my repertoire. Brent is truly a king if you ask me with the exception of him originally choosing his work over Shannon, but he makes up for it big time. Seeing Brent and Shannon’s story unfold was truly amazing. As with most romances I read, there were times I wanted to shake some sense into the two of them (they were being so stubborn), but they managed to figure it out which was good. My only complaint is that there wasn’t nearly enough spicy scenes if you ask me. I was so sad. However, the spicy scenes that were there were to die for. Lord knows my face was as red as a tomato and I kept having to fan myself whenever they occurred. I really think Lauren Blakely did an excellent job in writing this book and I’m looking forward to seeing what happens in the rest of the series. 100% recommend this to whoever wants to read it.

but the story was so lackluster. the couple immediately got back together. there was no tension or longing.
the whole side plot line that ends with a stupid cliffhanger just feels unresolved. we spend the entire book dropping hints about this storyline only to completely end! with nothing!
just a tiny cliffhanger in the epilogue to make us want to read the next one. unfortunately i didn't fall for it.
