Basically, a huge list of every book I ever heard features sapphic characters.

I have not read all of these, so I cannot be sure of the amount of the time on page of the sapphic characters or of the quality of the books.

Some of these I do not plan to read at all, since they are not my style. If you feel like a book doesn't belong here, let me know.

It's Lesbian visibility week! Here are 100+ books starring lesbians! Includes some non-fiction about lesbian women. I have spent years curating a list of graphic novels for myself on goodreads and I thought this place would be great to share it and share my love for graphic novels. I’m not picky about the plot or topics of the graphic novels I read so the list is pretty much any graphic novel I have heard of regardless of topic. Many are middle grade or young adult as is the general trend of the format but recommendations for more (especially adult) would be greatly appreciated.

Also manga is not included.

All of these are from the list that Texas lawmaker Matt Krause in October of 2021 tried and in many cases succeeded to get banned from classrooms and school libraries. There are quite a few interesting and odd choices in there which is part of why I wanted to share this list on here. Not necessarily recommendations but there are some pretty good books on here. In October 2021, Texas State Representative Matt Krause initiated an inquiry targeting a list of approximately 850 books in Texas public schools, alleging they could cause "discomfort, guilt, anguish, or any other form of psychological distress" regarding race or sex. The list disproportionately targeted LGBTQ+ topics, race/racism, and sex education.

This is my project to read through this list for myself - utilizing my local library system for access to these titles. Follow the journey or join along!
