I really enjoyed this book. The opening line made me laugh out loud and from there I finished the whole thing in a day.

I really liked Ali, the FMC, and how sassy she was. The banter between her and Tomas was great and I found myself grinning a lot at their conversations.

There was several plot twists that I saw coming from the start, but there was also a couple that genuinely surprised me. Maybe someone who had read the previous books would have seen them coming, but I wanted to see if this could truly be read as a stand-alone. There were moments towards the beginning where I felt a little lost with all the names being thrown around, but it didn’t take away from the story.

There was mild miscommunication between them, but it wasn’t dragged out to anything crazy. I do think the blurb is a little misleading, as the mafia aspect regarding Ali isn’t the main focus for the entire first half of the book. But it was still a good story that I enjoyed enough to want to read the rest of the books.

Overall, it was not a super deep or suspenseful story, but I think it’s a great starting point for someone who wants to dip their toes into the mafia romance waters.

    Enjoyment: Quality: Characters: Plot:

Ali the owner of an MMA gym meets her new business partner Tomas.

She hates him right off the bat. He is everything a gym owner shouldn't be. He wears nice suits, appears to not want to get dirty, and doesn't even seem to know a thing about fighting.

She is mad that he bought his portion of the gym without her even knowing.

The tension and the lust between Ali and Tomas is intense. Neither want to mix business and pleasure but the chemistry keeps pulling them closer.

When Ali finds out that her father is an enforcer in the mafia after never knowing him something doesn't sit right.

This book had me on the edge of my seat I needed to know what happened.

This is the 4th book in the series, that can be read as a standalone but I will more than likely read the series so I can know all the characters mentioned.
That being said, this is a mafia romance and enemies to lovers type trope, although they do have immediate chemistry, there is not a ton of spice.

I think that Alina's story is good and I do like that Tomas was very protective of her. I was happy with the way the story turned out and was super excited to receive this ARC.

If you want a little dark romance, mafia and minimal spice, then this would be perfect to get your toes wet. Also, takes place in Italy so you kind of get 365 days vibes if you know what I mean.
