every struggled to find actual lesbian/sapphic books when at the library or bookstore? so did I!

bc of said struggle, I started to curate a personal list of books that either has lesbian MCs and/or featured a primary sapphic romance.

i haven't read all of these, but I do try my diligence in confirming that they meet the above perimeters, since many books claim to be sapphic when they're not. this is an ever updating list, only fiction for now!

Basically, a huge list of every book I ever heard features sapphic characters.

I have not read all of these, so I cannot be sure of the amount of the time on page of the sapphic characters or of the quality of the books.

Some of these I do not plan to read at all, since they are not my style. If you feel like a book doesn't belong here, let me know.

This list brings together fiction from around the world that documents historical events or periods of time. Titles in this list aren't necessarily "historical fiction" but do have an important historical element to them.

I find fiction is an easy media to help educate me about world history I never learned in school. These titles aim to bring to light historical events that may not be taught in schools!

I got a request for a list of sapphic fiction/romances with ambiguous covers that wouldn't be flagged by their country's customs and subsequently tossed. Thought I'd post it here, in case it might benefit someone else!

Historical fiction's haunted, feral cousins. Folk horror, Gothic uncanny, mythic retellings, and formally strange books that make the past feel alive, weird, and slightly dangerous.

Does what it says on the tin. Historical fiction with lesbians and sometimes it's also fantasy.
