0 0Short. Good. I liked the characters but I'd prefer more of the modern time vs. the past. I don't know if I've said this about these before or not but I haven't yet read TID and these have a good bit of Tess, Will and Jem's lives in them so you should definitely read those first. It's laid out well enough for those of us who haven't but it does give things away if you're not familiar with the basic story (which I was before I started reading these).
I do think the backstories are helping Simon remember who he was before his memory was taken but only time will tell.
