Recs if you like Ruby Red...

Fantasy, sci-fi, & horror translated into English.

Translated german language literature that is considered by many to be "core" reading from the modern and contemporary eras - meaning 1880 onwards, making it very readable. 🇩🇪🇦🇹🇨🇭 I usually kept it to one book per author to make this a starting off point (sometimes added additional faves). Suggestions welcome!

when “a love for the ages” goes literal, these romances bend time, break rules, and (mostly) spark joy in every timeline.

the staples of the book community on youtube in the early to mid 2010s.

The fate of the world rests on this teenage girl's shoulders. She isn't like the other girls—she was chosen by prophecy, fate, or narrative convenience to save a realm that absolutely refuses to handle its own problems.

that are actually incredible and completely slept on

also I use fantasy lightly, there's some dystopian and sci-fi in here too :)

a list of first books in a trilogy - just in case anyone might need them for book challenges like HRCYED 👀 (this also includes trilogies that have additional novellas or got prequels etc, because they were originally trilogies)

I work at a bookstore and sometimes I bring people into the middle grade/ya section and am like...hey...I know we are above the age of 13, but trust me, these are amazing 10/10 and you should read. These are some of those books :)

Also feel free to suggest your favs too! Especially the ones that you never hear anyone talk about!!

So you want to diversify your reading list and thought about checking German literature. Should you check out the classical ones? Try some modern reads? Here's a list of every type of German book I really enjoyed or I heard are excellent - from the classics, to YA, to non-fiction

a list about those peak years (2010's decade) and (most) of the books that introduced me (us) to reading

*** disclaimer **** I'm deliberately leaving some of the books out of this list because I don't feel like supporting them putting their books here (if I missed someone who shoulnd't be here let me know!!)

Ancestral curses, strange bloodlines, magical lineage, family secrets, and more! There's something about these families...

Looking for the best time travel stories where time travel is a huge part of the plot! I want to see them travelling to different times!! Only including the first book in a series.

Basically I guess I’m looking for book versions of the TV show Timeless.

from magic worlds to time travel, these books full of adventure, romance, folklore and magic will definitely make you have a good time.

a response you can also use when you’re late for something!

disclaimer: i accept no responsibility whatsoever for any resulting harm from the usage of this sentence to your career, friendships, relationships, or general life circumstances. enjoy the list!

Ghost are scary. We all know that. But sometimes, they can also be sassy. Some of them are real diva that always have something "nice" to say. They always have a quirky comment to do and they know what they want.

My sassy ghost are not always part of the main cast, they sometime are a side character, but the story wouldn't be the same without them.

Recs welcome!

was it all a dream?

sometimes all you need is to spend a little time in london

(recommendations welcome, but will probably not add books written by cis white men)

books to lose yourself in (mostly fantasy)

Fantasy set (mainly) in (a version of) London
