у книжці дженніфер райт сторінок 176, а вбивиць 40, і на кожну є красива велика ілюстрація, тому сюди взагалі небагато могло вміститися. але, по-перше, добірка персоналій хороша: у моїх штатоцентричних «убивцях хх століття» жінок у принципі було обмаль, а тут не просто жінки, а й часові, і географічні межі значно ширші. а по-друге, гумор дженніфер райт добре пасує до історій про піраток, диктаторок, ангелів смерті, веселих удів і просто жінок, яким довелося брати справедливість у свої руки. (моя улюблена історія — про японку ші джанчао, яка, зарізавши вбивцю свого батька, написала про це зворушливий вірш і залишила записку з перепрошеннями за заквецяні кров’ю стіни. а потім жила ще довго і щасливо).
0If you’re looking for a book that gives an overview of women that kill this is the book for you.
The book gives an overview of 40 women who have all killed. The book is shorter so it doesn’t go into depth with each woman. If it did we would’ve been there a while. But if you’re not looking for something super in depth about each woman you’d probably like this.
Now I had heard of a decent amount of these women but I was pleasantly surprised to hear about some that I didn’t know. I listen/watch a lot of true crime media so I wasn’t surprised that I knew a decent amount but I still found some that I hadn’t heard of before.
This reminds me of a quick podcast. I listened to audio book and each of the women got about a 5ish minute section (five or take depending on the person) but I really liked that it felt like I was listening to podcast. If you’re someone trying to get into nonfic true crime books I think this would be a good place to start as it was easy to take in.
