Wow. This was an intense emotional rollercoaster of a reading experience. My heart was equally warmed as it was crushed by this tumultuous tale spanning centuries.

Heaven Officials Blessing - also known as Tian Guan Ci Fu, is a Xianxia light novel by Mo Xian Tong Xiu that follows Xie Lian and his many chaotic adventures as he learns to love himself, as much as he loves his people, and eventually have the love he gives to others returned 100 fold.




Xie Lian is definitely one of my favourite protagonists whose journey I have followed, his resilience, humility and humour were an absolute joy to read!


BUT for me the star of the show was Qi Rong. He was a disturbing chaotic mess, and his and Guzi's relationship was truly something special! (I literally ended up using 'Green Ghost' as my username haha). Was he a good father figure? Absolutely not. But Guzi truly allows his character to develop in a magnificent way - a wholesome dynamic!

So, if you are looking for a fun, BL Fantasy, that whilst having a romance central to the plot, it is not all that is explored in the series and has a fun cast of characters, I highly recommend checking out Heaven Officials Blessing!
