11/28/15: I love this book, but find myself impatient with anything other than Samuel and Leda's present. And just as things come to a climax between them, Japanese politics intrude. Still, a miraculous romance for these two. Between Samuel's past and Leda's propriety, I held my breath the whole book, wanting them to be together despite the minefield of misunderstandings and unspoken yearnings they had to navigate.
