I would rate this book a 3.5 out of 5 if I could. It has a pretty nice storyline, with an interesting and creative plot, and fun, relatable main characters. One of my favorite parts of the book was getting to read the backstories of the different Burmese characters when they were introduced, and I would've liked to see more moments like that throughout the book. However, I felt that the story and characters lacked depth and emotion, which made the overall experience feel a bit flat. The only character I was truly invested in was Rose, the dog.
