0This book took forever for me to finish...mostly because this has been an awful year, I only had it in hard copy and I don't think I ever realized how much reading I do at night. (it's a lot, okay?)
Add to that, and this is a slow burn. A very delicious slow burn, that builds and builds. At one point, I had to spoil myself the ending and jumped to the end (Children-in-Peril trigger) to make sure one element of the book was going to be okay. After I knew that, I was able to let the book progress until the tension built to the point where I stayed up late with the lights on to knock it out.
