For the first time in his life, Wes Ahern has encountered something—someone—he can’t fix. Not with his hands, his words, not even with his love. His head tells him Abby had to get out of Colorado to heal from the nightmare that nearly took her from him. To mend her wounded body, piece her broken spirit back together, and find out who she is behind the mask she felt forced to wear. His first instinct was always to protect her. Still is. But as he faces his own pain, an agonizing realization dawns: that while he needs her more than his next breath, the best place for her may not be with him. Because while he always had her back, the secrets they kept—even from each other—have the power to destroy them. When their paths cross again, will their souls still recognize each other? Note: Back to You is the conclusion of the Chaotic Love Duet. Often dark and sometimes jarring, this book also contains references to childhood trauma, kidnapping, and PTSD.

After the shocking cliffy of book 1 we are thrown back into Abby being taken and Wes feeling hopeless but thanks to the team from HIB! Now even though Abby is safe she is an emotional wreak and Wes is no better after feeling like he has failed her. While Abby leaves to heal Wes spirals out of control and Sterling bless his cotton socks is left to sort out Wes one way o the other and be a connection for Abby after both Wes and their Mum cease contact. I loved the letters that really makes you feel what Abby is going through, the pain, despair, frustrations, helplessness and then determination and it is due this that you really get what recovery can look like as well as see Wes slowly break. There are so many emotions you feel during this book ranging from though the spectrum of highs an lows that you are whole heartily invested in seeing them get it through there heads they are meant to be together and that they both have people in their lives who want them to do nothing more than live the lives they deserve. I freaking loved this book and every bit of emotion I went through it is so well written and really comes from the heart, if you have never tried a Claudia Y. Burgoa book then try this duet or really try any of her books as you will never be disappointed.
