From New York Times & Wall Street Journal bestselling author Aurora Rose Reynolds comes a brand new romantic comedy about a girl who understands how short life is, and a man who quickly learns there are things way more important than money. I had no idea that taking a temp job for the summer would send my life into a tailspin, but that’s exactly what happened when I started working for Jace Ellis. One day I was his secretary and the next I was sitting on his private plane, wearing an obnoxiously large engagement ring, after he asked me if I would pretend to be his fiancé for one week. I can admit that greed got the best of me. But the money he offered in exchange for my lie would help not only me, but my mom out tremendously. I just had no idea what I was actually getting myself into. I didn’t think about the fact that we would be sharing a bed, that we would have to pretend to like each other, and I sure didn’t know that I would be surrounded by his entire family at their annual family reunion. But if the guy want’s a fiancé, I’m going to be the best one he’ll ever have. I just hope I can remember that this isn’t forever; it’s for never.

This had some cute moments, but once again not a favorite from ARR. I think I'm just made for her Until Him/Her series. I enjoy that instant connection and attraction from the BOOM and I was missing that here.
As I said before, we did get some cute moments here. While it took a while for me to feel any chemistry between Penny and Jace, once I did I enjoyed the story better. While I did like Penny's character, Jace fell flat for me. Nothing about him really stood out and he seemed to do a 180 one day about his feelings for Penny.
Related to that, maybe it was just the ARC copy but we didn't get a POV from Jace. While the titles had Penny's name on them, I kept hoping that we would get some chapters from Jace's POV. It would have made this much better for me, so we could have at least seen what was going on in his head.
They are in a fake relationship while Jace goes to his family reunion so I knew that going in would be a big part of the book However, I felt like Penny spent more time with Jace's family than him. We got a lot of day to day of all of the planned activities and I just would have enjoyed more time seeing them get to know each other better.
All in all, I found this book to be alright but definitely not the best I have read from ARR. I feel like most will enjoy this though so don't let me detour you.
I received an ARC for an honest review.
REVIEW
Score: 4/5
POV: Single/FMC
Heat Level: 3.5/5
Tropes: Boss/Employee; Rich MMC; Grumpy/Sunshine Instalove; No 3rd act breakup
This was super cute. It was a quick read and both FMC and the MMC were like-able. I did enjoy the book but I will say I didn’t find it be super humorous. Don’t get me wrong it had some funny parts but I was expecting a bit more romcom which it really wasn’t. I didn’t realize the author was the same one of another book I attempted to read a while back and the writing was absolutely atrocious. I’d have to go back & see which book was written before the other. I have a feeling this is a newer book and her writing style has improved!
