Recs if you like Goat Magic...

JK Rowling is a bigot who uses her platform to hurt transfolks and other marginalized groups (plus she literally just quoted Mein Kampf on the bird site). If you're still supporting her in 2025, don't bother talking to me.

LGBT*+ graphic novels / comics / manga +

Fluff to smut, including 18+ etc aka not exclusive to anything specific other than being queer content (queer & queer-rep inclusive stories). I have read a good handful of the ones now at the bottom of the list. Includes intended middle-grade-ish-level youth content to adult audience content.

In progress / updated over time. Mostly serving as an all-in-one-spot list until Pagebound figures something out that works well for multi-genre/format exploration. :)

(recs highly welcome) Attempting a highly exhaustive list.

A list of the MG + YA books I'm most looking forward to being released in 2025

A few excellent graphic novels for kids! These books are mostly for Ages 6-15, but some vary. Double-check first before recommending them to a kid, you don't want to accidentally give a book that's too hard to read for them. It's already hard enough to encourage their love for reading without making it harder than it has to be! But, these are all still very good for reluctant readers.

If you're missing THE NIB--the award-winning comics journalism magazine that closed in 2023--check out these books by contributors to the magazine and webcomic.
