Amelia and Luc have known each other since they were children. Amelia has always wanted to marry Luc, so she proposes to him. Luc is shocked to realize that he wants to marry Amelia! What follows is a steamy courtship and two people falling perfectly in love.
The main issue of this book is that Luc is an emotionally stunted man who can’t say the words “I love you”. It’s so bad, he lies to Amelia and lets her continue to believe that he was poor and married her for her dowry. He knows if she knew he were actually wealthy, he would have to admit the reason he married her was because he loves her. He will go down in my book as “Ludicrous Luc”, which may sound like I’m insulting him, but I promise I’m not – I love an emotionally stunted hero! Overall, it was a great Cynster read, but doesn’t knock Amanda and Martin’s book out of the lead!
