Thank you to BookSirens for this free ARC. All opinions are my own. I love a good thriller and (obvs) I'm a book lover, so I instantly knew I wanted to read The Murder House Book Club. Sue me, I choose books by their cover, you can get fun and not-so-fun surprises lol. First of all, our main character, Rose: I love her. She is smart and kind and best of all, in a thriller: she listens to her intuition !!!! The amount of time I've been frustrated by MCs in thrillers just throwing logic out the window so the plot can advance. Not here. Rose figures things out ! I really appreciated the twists and turns; I wasn't expecting some of the reveals. Though it is losing a star from me since the final big twist kinda felt a bit underworked? Like, sure, it wrapped everything up together, but I was still hoping for a better motive.
Thank you to BookSirens for this ARC - I loved the juxtaposition of the slow library life and the expectations of a quiet suburban cul-de-sac with the reality of what was going on in the story. I also really enjoyed the way the author managed to make me feel suspicious about everybody even without reason - if they weren't suspicious, they were almost more suspicious, and I truly had no idea who to believe. I found the ending satisfying; a neat conclusion to the many branches of the storyline.
