Of course a supposed vacation couldn't stay that way for Ever and the guys. With the arrival of Atlas and the mysteries that seem to grow the longer they're around him, including how he not only knows the new bartender in town but gives him orders of a questionable nature that are followed without hesitation but with a knowing smile. Throw in snow storms, assholes and a hot tub and this vacation is turning into a rollercoaster ride. It doesn't look like things are going to calm down when they get home either, when the detective in charge of Ever's case has some news that shocks them all and throws them straight into a tail spin. Ever and her guys are in for one hell of a ride and it's only just getting started. . . This is a dark, medium burn, contemporary reverse harem that will have some m/m. Warnings: Please be advised that this book contains dark themes, including abuse, violence and cursing. Additionally, sexual themes suitable for mature audiences 18+. All sex is consensual.

I’m kind of torn on this book, I really liked seeing her relationship develop further with the guys. The cliffhanger from book 1 is pretty quickly resolved - some of which seemed a little out of left field, like one of the guys having deliberately got himself kidnapped in the past. We meet Atlas, and I liked him but things happen way too quickly with him. He doesn’t have the history with Ever, so the. Instantly jumping into a relationship together with her felt too forced. I also feel like the set up is there for there to be a 8th member of the harem. In book one, I really liked the girl friendship between Ever and Rylie, but in this book Rylie seems to do a 180 and is kind of a crap friend. I’m not sure if this is just a way to get rid of a character, but it didn’t make sense to me. Also in the end, it suddenly switches, and the story is set up to change to a bully Academy RH story in book 3. Their ages also kind of don’t make sense to - they range in age from 17 to 19, but they are seemingly in the same grade, the ages would allow for so,e of the plot points, like them having money, but in regards to school why are the older ones, especially the 19 year olds still in school? Im not sure if that is a difference in UK vs US schooling or just a hole. I didn’t feel like the cliffhanger was as harsh as book 1. I tend not to focus on grammatical errors - and there were quite a few, but it does bother me when a story is set in the US but there is British phrasing/lingo - like jumper, go to mine, good job, bloody, etc. it also seemed really off that one of the moms who is repeatedly pointed out to be Italian is speaking British lingo. Overall, I liked the story - I read it in one sitting - but it felt like there were a lot of 180s in characters and the plot that just happen without good explanation or justification. I will likely pick up book 3, because I want to see what happens.
