Recs if you like To Live...

east & south east asian literary fiction beyond murakami.

timeless modern classics – 20th century onwards – exploring universal themes like identity, morality and society.

these books capture elements of the uniquely beautiful symbolism, tones and rhythms that characterise asian languages and culture.

very much open to recs for expansion. (one book per author, typically their most renowned)

Chinese literature across genres

these are the books recommended to me by my east asian history professors and are must reads ! this will be a mix of fiction, non fiction, based on true events, literature, etc. all of these are heavy reads so pace yourself.

Reading is so personal, and so this is a list of books that made me feel. Sadness, happiness, confusion...everything. Feelings are my favorite thing.
