Roan and Riot’s story. I’ve been waiting for this one since I started reading this series. In a lot of ways, I didn’t really want to because I knew there was going to be a lot of pain from both sides of the story. Riot’s just trying to raise their two daughters as basically a single mom while also managing the tour for the band. She’s worried about Roan and his mental health, though; she still cares for him even though they aren’t married anymore. When things hit a crisis point with Roan and his drug use, can Riot convince Roan that things need to change?

At it’s root, this is a story of two damaged people. But when things are clear between them, they love each other. There were some scenes in this book that physically made me hurt. Some of them I related to maybe a bit too much. Both of them are mourning the loss of “them” in different ways and neither one of them knows how to get back to right again. There’s just so much water under the bridge to make them comfortable with trusting the other one again. Can Roan make Riot see that they are better together than apart and that their love never died?
