Re-read for library book club, looking for anti-hero romance. Knox isn’t a typical romance hero, he meets Briar in prison. He’s serving time for murder, that he definitely committed. But for Reasons. Briar is a nurse volunteering at the prison and she doesn’t want to be there.

I’m not sure Knox is really an anti-hero but he thinks he is, that he’s a bad bet and doesn’t deserve happiness. He actually says Briar is bad for him because he’ll do anything to protect her.

CW: unprotected sex. I wish Briar had just gotten some Plan B, but instead the possible pregnancy is used to keep them in touch for a couple weeks.
