Atmospheric novels that feel like stepping into another country, another era, another interior life.

Strictly romance first, romance novels. Expect fun banter, laugh out loud moments and ultimate joy, fun and elaborate conceits, feet kicking in the air and giggling vibes. Only books I personally recommend, and I tend to like romcoms where the leads have their own proper adult lives and see some personal growth. This is the best out of over 150! 😎

Recs welcome, especially really good, funny queer and bipoc, asian, global majority authors please 💕

Romance books by British authors, ideally set in the UK. Very much an early stage WIP! aiming for romance first romance novels. Please suggest more or lmk if there are any wrong ones here! purposely excluded; anything I personally hated or dnfed because I wouldn't do that to you

Fiction books that outright tackle misogyny, or have feminist undertones. For every reader out there who's tired of being met with toxic/misogynist behaviour in stories that is presented as acceptable, or even romantic, and those who want to learn about the female perspective.
