Recs if you like Your Body is Not Your Body...

Reading suggestions for the Trans Rights Readathon! (Any year of course). Books with trans characters of any label (or any non-cis gender identity) by trans/non-cis authors. I have not read all the books in this list. Feel free to name your fave books by trans authors in the comments!

Horror books by trans, Two Spirit, nonbinary, et al authors (may or may not include trans* characters).

Short story, essays, comics, and/or poetry collections focusing on queer and trans folks. Please note: there are some collections listed where not every story is queer, but there is intersectionality, and since that is important, I have included them.

This is a collection of recommendations for people who want to get into extreme horror/splatterpunk without feeling pressured. Have fun, stay safe, and remain scary!!

Creepy books made better because there are queer characters

when the cover is absolutely doing its job correctly

(gorgeous, funny, and uniquely fitting covers, all in one)

Of course, this isn't the only recommendation list out there for the Trans Rights Readathon. I encourage everyone to check out all the different lists! This list is made up of books I've personally enjoyed, am currently reading, or plan to read (so this is pretty tailored, lol). I'll keep editing this list as I finish books and find more books I want to read. Everything here is either written by a trans author and/or features trans main characters/focuses on trans issues.

For all the body horror and splatterpunk fans. Ranging from light to absolutely brutal! NOTE: Most of these are books I have read but this list is also a library of what I have yet to read. If you have suggestions, please do comment!

trans rep books (including non binary)

Anthologies of fiction or comics that are either specifically themed around or prominently feature queer characters, stories, or authors

I thought I’d keep up a list of anthologies that support various charities. Please do make recommendations in the comments but make sure to verify your rec does indeed support a charity!
