Thankfully, the little things that bugged me about the last book in this series weren't present in this book. And since I've loved Brenna from book one I was glad to finally get to read her story.
Brenna's story broke my heart. The author really got across the feeling of a teen who is unsure of herself and pushed to the point of major insecurities because of mean words by others. Even more heartbreaking was the childhood Jess let out a bit at a time. How any mother could act that way is beyond me and it actually made me want to step into the book to give her mom a piece of my mind.
The ending of this story is the most romantic of the three books by far. Because of the nature of Brenna's relationship to the O'Neil family it also didn't seem too far-fetched.
I think I'll try another series by Sarah Morgan, I'm thinking the Puffin Island series. Even with the little things that tend to bother me in her writing, I have loved her characters and storylines.
Quite sweet! I loved the snowy setting and the unique POV of the heroine. Gave me all the decorating feels and makes me miss snow all the more down here in Texas. A little predictable but overall a fun and festive holiday read.
