Having not read the original story, I went into this story blind with the only information of vampires and a hint of spice, although I didn't know how much. Originally the amount of sex put me off slightly, mostly because when I was reading it I wasn't exactly in a situation that was appropriate, although I will say it was well written, there just seemed to be too much together. That being said, I appreciated the fact that it didn't happen within the first chapter as I've had happen before. The characters seem interesting and I am intrigued as to what happens next, especially with the ending and also what happens with some of the characters. The development of them was good and well written. Overall, the story kept me interested and didn't turn me away, with everything being well written and an interesting take on vampires. I did think I would get annoyed at how one of the main characters was written, however she did grow on me as the story went on and it almost seems like she grew herself as well. I think I would give the original story a read having read this, even though it isn't exactly my typical kind of book.
