Some call it grief. Some call it madness. When Thalia Novak’s parents die in an unexpected accident, it’s all too much for her to handle. She’s spent a lifetime trying to keep the voices at bay, to keep them a secret, but this time their screams can’t be ignored. And neither can Thalia’s. Not too far away, it’s a very different body causing a very different problem. It’s not the first body to be carted off from Ashford under suspicious circumstances. And unless something changes, it won’t be the last. A House So Dark is a short story prequel of the events leading up to Thalia’s commitment to Ashford Asylum in the Asylum Bound duology.

While not required to read to understand the series I loved having this prequel to dive into. Super short but allows the reader to get to know a little about the characters of the series before jumping into the mayhem
