Stories of Shadow and Starlight

This thematic obsession definitely started with "A Study in Drowning" and I have slowly been collecting stories ever since. Most of these involve the ocean except "The Knight & the Moth" but the drowning elements are too good to miss.

Collecting books that would categorise as romance/romantasy/fantasy with prominent romance subplot that booksandlala has rated 4 stars or higher.

I just finished 'Rose in Chains' and loved the resurgence of an old magical power struggle where one group can siphon the magic from another. These recs tend to be darker and more mature, so do your due diligence before reading. Yes, you can recommend books to add to this list.

Someone asked for autumnal, southeastern book recs and I realized... I don't have any lol. My favorites always make their way back to the west side so this is a shout out to these under-appreciated romantic power of sunny California, the moody PNW and my beloved Vancouver!
