I really love when a book’s title is just so perfect. While I was reading this story I just kept thinking about how Melissa Foster nailed it with the title, it’s so Harley and Piper. The cover, on the other hand, is not so Harley to me. Great looking guy, great cover…not Harley.

Piper has been someone who has equal parts endeared herself to me and annoyed me through the Sugar Lakes series, where the majority of her siblings got their HEAs, and this series, where the rest of her siblings and close friends got their HEAs. Of course, through them all the reader sees and feels that connection she has with Harley. It was great to finally get to the inner workings of Pipers brain and see what made her so tough on the outside.

I swear, Harley has got to be one of the most patient men in the world. Especially when it comes to Piper. (Not so much when it comes to his brother, which I’m sure will be a whole other story someday.) His nieces love him to pieces, with good reason. And he is adored by his mom and sister, and just about everyone else in town. While Piper knows Harley is an amazing guy (he is her best friend, after all), she’s somehow blind to how much he means to her. She’s so used to having walls up with EVERY man, that she doesn’t even notice that she keeps those walls firmly in place even with her best friend. Once it finally registers and she sees what she’s been doing, she doesn’t stand a chance against his flirtatious and fun charms.

As much as I enjoyed this story, I enjoyed the peek at the Dark Knights. I’m really hoping that means what I think it means and we’ll be getting a lot more of those yummy men and their headstrong women, even once the Whiskey’s all get their HEA.
