LIMITED FIRST PRINT RUN--featuring original illustrated stenciled edges, foil case stamp, and designed endpapers. Only available for a limited time and while supplies last. House of the Dragon meets From Blood and Ash in this epic, scorching dark romantasy. A conqueror captivated… A witch prophesied to save them all… A world where dragons rule Rome. From the moment Roman general and nephew to the emperor Julianus Dakkia laid eyes on Malina, he was enthralled by the Dacian dancer. Years later, the fierce beauty stands before him on a scarred battlefield, her life in danger. He instinctively shifts into his fierce dragon form to save her, an action that may mean his head on the imperial gate. But he and his dragon know one thing: she belongs to them. Malina can’t believe that the centurion who had once bestowed a secret talisman on her is the Roman general of legendary brutality. His warrior prowess cannot be denied, yet they don’t reveal the secret he hides. All Malina knows is his protection and gentle touch. And she cannot deny how her soul has always seemed to answer his. As they navigate a world where flying deathriders conquer and burn, their love will ignite a firestorm that can only end in heartbreak or death. Or both.

  • The cover got me on this one but...

Majority of the pre read reviews that were good said if you enjoyed 4th wing you'll enjoy this. Im still coming off of the empyrean series as a whole last month so I'll give this a shot when it comes out next month. Curious if anyone else is interested in this one or have even heard of it. Barnes and Noble just know I'm a sucker for a beautifully done special edition 🤣

Nothing makes me pick up a book faster than book drama! The main issue people have is that it's a "slave/master" romance. Another is that the MC is romanian (Dacian) and gets together with a Roman (colonizer). Both are valid criticisms of this text and I feel more research and explanations should've been done than assumptions on the readers part. In all honesty though, this book shouldn't have made it to traditional publishing. Let alone be chosen for a special edition box. This plot was so convoluted, the characters muddled, the dragon shifting taken from other stories and no context given to the world itself let alone the wars happening and why slaves of people are being taken in the first place??? Here's a better synopsis though to help grow your own opinions on. I also want to hear a Romani's insights to this book the most honestly. She is a Romani dancer who dances in front of a dragon general who gives her a coin. Shes then captured by Celtic warriors who use her as their witch(secret weapon). 4 years later in a fight with the Romans, the dragon finds her and sweeps her away to his home where she becomes his "body slave." He then dines with her and does nothing overtly sexual until the two fall for each other. She also is the worst slave ever because she never does anything he tells him nor even thinks of herself as having to bend to his whims. There's also an evil nemesis and dictator uncle that the MC dragon general is up against. This book doesn't have an official ending and leaves off with a whisper of what's to come in the next book. Let me tell you, there probably won't even be a book 2 at the rate this book is tanking and being ripped the shreds. Most is valid criticism cause it seems there were no sensitivity readers at all let alone plot editors in general. Also for a dragon book, this really sucked

The romantasy loving and dragon enthusiast booktok girlies are going to love this one. It’s me, I am girlies.

    dragon shifters
    touch her and die
    fated mates
    he falls first
    forced proximity

This was SO good. Absolutely exquisite world-building in the setting of Ancient Rome, it was fast paced and had some really great elements of political intrigue.

I already have the special edition of this book on pre-order so I was elated to get to read this early. An endless thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an advance copy of this book.
