Fantasy which exists within the confines of an elaborate hierarchical society, often with lots of rules attached. Lots of crossover with historical fiction and historical fantasy; might be good for fans of Austen, Wilde, &c!

Nobody asked, but this is my list of not-as-well-known (this is subjective) stories I consider both beautifully written and with wonderful romance. Mostly fantasy, some not. Some a lil' spicier than others.

knights, magic, and classic fantasy feels

A collection of older, lesser-known, fantasy (or science fantasy) books written by incredible women. In a time when female fantasy authors were few and far between, these authors carved out their own space in the genre. These stories might not be mainstream hits today, but they are full of brilliant magic, deep characters, and/or worlds that helped shape the genre. (First in Series / standalones only for now - open to suggestions!)

For stern, principled men built out of duty, discipline, and inconveniently strong morals. The kind who will make brutal choices when they believe they’re necessary, put responsibility before desire, and hold themselves to impossible standards, until someone earns a place in their heart and discovers just how gentle all that iron can become.

Dimension 20 spin-off season inspired by the famous ACOTAR is a game of high politics, good humor, and unforgettable characters.

Not the same as perfect writing, just writing that made a person out of me.

Badass ladies, dashing book boyfriends, enviable fighting abilities, lore that makes your brain happy because it's so perfect, and hopefully a final battle that isn't a snorefest.
