Based on the fourth season episode of the same name. Psychiatrist Dr. Mark Collier kills Carl Donner with a fireplace poker after a confrontation with Donner over Collier's affair with Donner's wife, Nadia, who is one of Collier's patients. Collier concocts a cover story involving a home robbery gone astray. But when Columbo catches on, Collier tries to clear himself of any suspicion by hypnotizing Nadia.
