The PI in AAPI!
Disclaimer: I am not Pacific Islander, but we should all strive to read more Pasifika authors!
The grouping of Pasifika and Asian communities has a complex history. And because of this grouping, Pasifika authors are largely underrepresented.
Check out Pacific Islanders in Publishing (I cannot figure out how to hyperlink, sorry) for more recs!
I have not read all of the books on this list, so please let me know if any are not fit for this list!
Suggestions are always welcome!

always was, always will be: fiction edition
The many and varied Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures from the lands, waters and skies known today as 'Australia' are, collectively, the oldest continuing culture in the world. Sick, huh? Aboriginal Peoples are the first and forever storytellers, so what better way to decolonise your bookshelf than to read Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices?

Miles Franklin Award
"The most prestigious literary award in Australia" which has been going for 70 years, features some much beloved Aussie writers and is named for a prolific 20th century author. I've only included winners from 2007 onwards because the official website is terribly set up and I don't trust Wikipedia without another source but I'll update if I can happily confirm. Again, the longlist is always interesting, please have a look if you want more Aussie reads!!
