Recs if you like It Rhymes With Takei...

LGBT*+ graphic novels / comics / manga +

Fluff to smut, including 18+ etc aka not exclusive to anything specific other than being queer content (queer & queer-rep inclusive stories). I have read a good handful of the ones now at the bottom of the list. Includes intended middle-grade-ish-level youth content to adult audience content.

In progress / updated over time. Mostly serving as an all-in-one-spot list until Pagebound figures something out that works well for multi-genre/format exploration. :)

(recs highly welcome) Attempting a highly exhaustive list.

Graphic Memoirs, aka Memoirs told via Graphic Novels.

Huge shout outs to both one_crazy_elliott and MadHoney for such lengthy & thorough rec lists to add!

May 16th is National Biographer's Day, commemorating the work of people who write about... people! We've picked out a whole pile of our favorite biographies, autobiographies, and memoirs by and about queer folks to celebrate the occasion. (This list is presented by Duck Prints Press, the indie publisher focused on publishing queer art and stories by queer creators! A group of us collaborate to make these recommendations.)

May is AAPI Month! We've put together a list of our favorite books starring queer Asian American characters; none are Pacific Islands American, but we've got a separate list coming soon of books starring queer Pacific Islanders (who aren't American) so be on the lookout! (This list is presented by Duck Prints Press, the indie publisher focused on publishing queer art and stories by queer creators! A group of us collaborate to make these recommendations.)

Books with pride flags on the cover art! Or using other design elements to obviously evoke a pride flag.

A mix of fiction and nonfiction. Recs welcome.

Some books I want to read in the next couple years. I want to learn more things, especially about philosophy, the state of the world, mythology, and history.

I love YA. It can suck pretty bad when the books try to copy each other. But when some of those gems pop up...wowza! Who knew you could tell such a hard-hitting story without having to resort to 1,000 pages & sex?
