Snow won’t be the only thing getting blown Bennett My mother is in a medical facility, and I’m running out of money to pay for her care after screwing up a recent contract hit. To make matters worse, I’m no closer to finding my missing sister. I need a distraction. That’s where Catarina Novak comes into the picture. When she decides to attend the winter retreat, it’s only natural that I would follow her. My intentions are simple: make her as miserable as possible so that I can forget how miserable I am. Making her unhappy is my favorite pastime, but what happens when I discover something I enjoy more? And how will I handle the truths she makes me admit to myself? Cat The winter retreat is a chance to forget all my worries and enjoy myself for an entire week. I’ll be there with my best friend, and I’ll finally get my first kill. What could possibly go wrong? A lot, apparently. When Bennett Carter breezes into the log mansion, he brings a cloud of chaos in his wake. With his stupidly handsome smirk, he blocks my kills at every turn and makes it his life’s mission to annoy me. But when we get lost in the woods overnight, something changes . . . If people discover what we’ve done, we’ll never hear the end of it, but how can we keep this a secret when we’re stuck under a microscope? How can we stop what we’ve set in motion? And do we even want to? Welcome to the winter retreat, Sinners! *** Slay Ride is the second book in Lauren Biel’s Slaycation series. Each book follows a different couple as they navigate the hilarity of love and murder. These dark romantic comedies are packed with serial killers, forced proximity, and banter that cuts deep. It’s a dangerously good time! *** TROPES Grumpy x Sunshine Forced proximity Touch her and ☠️ Enemies-to-lovers He falls first (but she hits harder) Razor-sharp banter Lost in the woods Serial unaliver shenanigans

4 - 𝗣𝗹𝗼𝘁: Well, "funny murder romcom" says it all! 1 - 𝗦𝗮𝗱: Just a wee little bit—because stuff, yk. 2 - 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗲: Loads of tension and a few fun times. 1 - 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝗸: Like murder and stuff, ya know, lol. 1 - 𝗙𝘂𝗻𝗻𝘆: The damn banter, hahaha. My favorite quotes all revolve around the damn (and awesome) banter, hahaha. Here’s part of a scene that killed me 💀 “𝑫𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒈𝒐 𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒚 𝒐𝒏 𝒎𝒆,” 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒚𝒔. “𝑭𝒖𝒄𝒌 𝒎𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒉𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒎𝒆, 𝑩𝒆𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒕𝒕.” “𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒏’𝒕 𝒃𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒐,” 𝑰 𝒔𝒂𝒚 𝒂𝒔 𝑰 𝒈𝒆𝒕 𝒃𝒆𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒓𝒂𝒑 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒉𝒂𝒊𝒓 𝒂𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒚 𝒕𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒊𝒔𝒕. “𝑰 𝒅𝒐 𝒉𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖.” 𝑺𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒔𝒌𝒆𝒅 𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒇𝒖𝒄𝒌 𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝑰 𝒉𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒓, 𝒔𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕’𝒔 𝒆𝒙𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒍𝒚 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒔𝒉𝒆’𝒔 𝒈𝒐𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝒈𝒆𝒕... 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒂 𝒕𝒐𝒕𝒂𝒍 𝒐𝒇 𝒇𝒊𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒔𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒔. 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗗𝘂𝗺𝗽 ★ Funny banter right from the beginning... and right till the end! ★ The whole group just sticking up for each other—so much caring, and the found family vibe is chef’s kiss. ★ The food fetish comments are hilarious, and I don’t want them to stop. Haha, ohhh gosh, and they don’t! Hahahaha. ★ All the events are hilarious! How does one even come up with this stuff?! Haha. ★ Yes, a man who just steps up and takes care of you—bonus: he doesn’t even realize he’s doing it! ♡ My favorite character has to be Cat. She’s so bubbly, takes no shit, and can dish out banter just as well as she can take it. I really liked Eve’s character too—loved how she came in, ruffled some feathers, and became such a good friend! Oh, and I can’t forget about Shorty! There’s nothing I didn’t like about the story or anything I’d even change. The only thing I’d mention is that the romance took a unique path, for me anyway. Without any spoilers - it's a slow build that made the emotional payoff rewarding by the end. The overall vibes this book gives off are dark (because murder) but also full of banter—kind of like a snowball fight where every snowball has a little knife inside. Lol. Chaotic? Yes. Fun? Absolutely. I’d recommend this book to anyone who’s a fan of Brynn Weaver’s Ruinous Love Trilogy—it has a similar murder-romcom vibe but is a completely different story. Also, if you love touch her and die energy with a side of forced proximity (grumpy + sunshine), this one’s for you! Please check TWs! 𝗔𝗥𝗖
