Reading Queer in 2026 (a non-exhaustive list)
We should all be reading queer, all year, but this list is full of upcoming queer books of all makes and models coming out in 2026. If you have a rec to add, just please keep in mind weβre looking for 2026 releases!

SFF Comedy & Clownery
Suggestions always welcome! SFF books written to be humorous, satiric, or otherwise meant to entertain and make readers laugh. (This was a quest idea i was thinking about, but I'm not committed enough to this to make it)

no Brat was hurt (much) in the making of this list
but the jury is out on the actions of their brat tamerπ§ββοΈββ‘οΈare we in an elevator cause these MCs are ready to push all the buttons for a crumb of punishment in return πββοΈ the way they run their mouth you would think they were in a marathon π
being told to watch your mouth is a challenge, not a threatβdonβt forget that π

HRCYED 3.0 x Pagebound Quests (Titles Edition)
If we are going to do Qwordy's the Hardest Reading Challenge You'll Ever Do 3.0 - we should probably get some Pagebound badges along the way! I'm specifically going to be adding books from Quests and readalongs that go past the July start date and match at least one of these title prompts: Periodic Table, Familial Terms, Rainbow of Words (also Joseph's coat), Numerical Titles, Titular Counting 5+, Pun in the Title, and First & Last Name in the Title. Recommendations welcome!

2026 Cozy and Whimsical Fantasy Releases

2026 Fantasy Releases

The Red Cycle: Fantasy Novels with Menstruation
Inspired by, and initially sourced from recommendations within, the Pagebound Club post by Justsomecrazyhuman, this is a list of fantasy novels where periods exist. Shocking, I know!
Please comment your recommendations.

Queer knights, paladins and warriors
LGBTQ+ Books, novellas, graphic novels and anthologies featuring lgbtq+ knights, paladins or warriors in the main cast!

Queer 2026 Releases
Not a comprehensive list, definitely open to suggestions. I'll try to update this fairly often! This list features a wide variety of genres and representations!

started out as a [post] how did it end up a book??
Mostly-fiction books that started out as posts (Reddit, instagram, twitter, tumblr, etc)

queer 2026 releases to look forward to!
this is an ongoing list of lgbtqiap+ books (across all genres, and age groups) that are planned to be released in 2026. if youβre an arc reader, you can also check whether any of them are available as arcs!! feel free to suggest books to add, since Iβll work on this list over time as well π₯°
last books added in: january!

titles that made me go βwait whatβ π
I love it when titles break the naming conventions of books. Iβve had enough a blank of blank and blank, I want something NEW, something STRANGE, something that immediately makes me check out the synopsis with the excitement of a dog who has seen a squirrel πΏοΈ

Altered Reality Queer Fiction π³οΈβππ³οΈββ§οΈβ¨
Queer genre fiction set in a world different from our reality, whether set in a different time, a different world, or in a version of our world but with different rules. Perfect for the reader looking for a little escapism in their next queer read πβ¨

2026 Queer Releases
Every year we get more and more queer books in more and more diverse genres and I for one would like to roll around in all of them from sheer joy πββοΈ since I canβt do that here is a list to metaphorically roll around in instead.
Disclaimer: all books had 2026 releases at the time of adding. The publishing industry does change things around though.

Reclusive wizards
Books where there's a reclusive wizard/sorcerer of some sort who would rather spend their days hiding away in a basement or tower than deal with the MC's troubles.

protectors
bodyguards, knights & royal guards

π Dragons π
Dragons everywhere. From tiny, mischievous hatchlings to wise, ancient sky-soarers, these books are packed with scales, sparks, and heart. Expect warmth, wonder, and at least a little fire.

the irreverent sarcasm and/or satire runs deep
books w sense of humor (or voice) that's A) so subtle and cleverly disguised you could blink and miss it B) so blatant it's like being hit over the head C) so outrageous it's honestly just absurd D) drier than the sahara desert E) rather tongue-in-cheek F) all (or at least more than one) of the above
(some are more obvious than others since some are clearly intended to be satirical and others were just written in such a dry voice it made me chortle)

Hooked by the title
Novels with intriguing titles (that I read or that sound interesting) in English (either originally or translated); a mix of genres. Mostly 4+ words in the title, with some select 3-word-titles but no shorter ones. No parts of series except for the first book.

Read the Rainbow: LGBTQ+ Pride Picks (Fiction)
Shamelessly yoinked from a certain other reading app that shall not be named... this is a list of recently published (2025-2026) LGBTQ+ fiction across a spectrum of genres and identities!
(Disclaimer: I haven't read most of these, but so many compelling covers made me want to save them all in a list to continue referencing into the future.)
