My ex returns the same way he left: like a ghost. I hate him for breaking my heart, but I'm still aching to be in his bed. It’s been 10 years since he disappeared. My brother convinces him to come back for a visit. At supper, our eyes meet, and the world stops just for a second. So much has changed. He’s rich, divorced, and a single daddy. My brother says to take it slow, but he’s irresistible. Long glances turn into electric touches, and it’s not long before I give in to everything I thought I lost. If I can get him to stay, I’ll have the family I’ve always wanted. Of course, nothing goes to plan. He wants to revitalize the town in his pushy, billionaire ways. As a lawyer, I’m going to fight him. The only problem: if I win my case, I’ll lose my forever.

Kayla and Andrew were a couple when she was finishing high school. His father moved his company to New York and Andrew went with him, without telling Kayla he was leaving or even saying goodbye. Her heart was broken, and she's sworn to never forgive him. Several years have passed and Andrew is spending the summer in town, working remotely and visiting with friends and working remotely. Andrew is invited to a barbecue at his old friend James' house. James just happens to be Kayla's brother as well and neither was aware the other would be there. Kayla still refuses to talk to Andrew, but then she discovers that the house he rented is right next door to her. Soon she decides to be an adult and they discuss the past. Once they are dating (and more), Andrew sees how he can update the town and make things better for the townspeople. But Kayla sees things much differently and it breaks them apart. Can they see their way to getting back together or are they both too stubborn to try and find middle ground?
