I really enjoyed this series a lot. I only wish I would have started with the Sin Brothers series instead of this one, but I already have the first book of that series waiting for me from the library. As much as I loved this series and was able to easily follow the stories, I don’t think it’s necessary to read the Sin Brothers books before reading the Blood Brothers books. But, I would strongly suggest you read Deadly Silence and Lethal Lies before reading this story. You would miss out on so many connections between the brothers if you don’t.
Speaking of the brothers, I was a bit sad that we didn’t see or even hear much from Ryker and Heath in the first half of this book. The reason they were MIA (in a sense) totally makes sense for this story, but I still missed them. One of the best things about these stories is the connection the brothers have with one another. I was also afraid Denver wasn’t going to use his “abilities”, that was something I thought was lacking in the last story. But as the story progressed he tapped into his “otherness” a bit more.
I’m so happy that Noni is everything Denver built her up to be in his mind. Smart, sexy, fiercely loyal, caring, intuitive, tenacious. The perfect other half for Denver. The only thing that would sometimes annoy me about her was she was a bit too stubborn. I’m a mom, I get the protective instinct when it comes to your baby. Yet Noni herself admitted she couldn’t actually do anything in some of the situations she and Denver went into. Still, she wouldn’t let Denver leave her behind in safety. Ugh! Later, it seems she starts to see how staying out of the way makes more sense. Thankfully.
