Even though Dylan had rescued Hailey and her two companions from a pack of zombies, she wasn't sure she could trust him. He was hard, dangerous, and seemed happier being on his own. Dylan didn't trust Hailey's two friends any further than he could throw them, but he couldn't let that innocent girl go back out there into the apocalypse with nothing but them between her and the zombies - and worse. He was the best chance she had, and he'd protect her to his dying breath. This standalone novella is a supplemental story set in the Dead Heat universe. It can be read on its own, although some characters from the main novel do pop up.
